Alagoas Trip Report - Feb, 2005

Valley / Lake Trail

The Valley / Lake trail starts off at the farm house and descends to the valley floor, on the way passing a pond where you can sometimes see Wattled Jacana or even a Purple Gallinule.

Looking up from the valley floor toward the Rock Cap trail. There are some opportunities for rock climbing and rappelling which we are looking into.

Several springs can be found deep into the valley providing a lush verdant background for seeing frugiferous birds.

Native fruit trees, like this 'Maria Preta' provide excellent viewing.

The main lake, near it's low water point in mid February. The mark on the rock indicates the normal level of the
water.
